FAQ
What is cheerleading?
Cheerleading is a sport from the USA that is much more than just the usual cliché of waving pom-poms. Cheerleading is a very diverse team sport that combines elements from the fields of gymnastics, acrobatics and dance. The so-called stunts, baskets, pyramids, as well as tumbling, jumps and dance are assembled into a choreography and form a spectacular performance.
Cheerleading Championships?
Cheerleading, also known as cheersport, is not just a secondary sport in American football, basketball or other sports. For years, cheerleading has also been practiced as a championship sport around the world. This has also been the case here in Germany for several decades. The demand is increasing from year to year and the cheer sport is becoming more and more popular. In Germany, teams from all over the country compete against each other at various championships and present their routines to a jury. In addition, the teams are loudly cheered and supported by their own fans.
How are the different teams divided?
Our teams are divided into different age groups according to the rules of the CCVD (Cheerleading and Cheerperformance Association Germany) and also according to the athletic performance of the athletes.
You can find out more about our teams here.
Who Can Start Cheerleading?
In our eyes, almost anyone can start cheerleading who is willing to learn something new. With us, both girls and boys from the age of 5 will find the right team. Boys and men have a major role to play in cheerleading. For example, lifting figures or various gymnastic elements such as somersaults and twists are learned. Due to the diversity of cheersports, there are many different positions that can be filled with almost any physical condition.
